That is SO last week

The results of last week’s elections may reflect some inconsistency in what voters want. While Republicans made significant gains, minimum wage and paid sick leave initiatives also won big.  In states where both issues were on the ballot, they succeeded. Minimum wages will increase in Alaska, Arkansas, Nebraska, and South Dakota, and paid sick leave will now be required in Massachusetts and several cities. These election results could lead to more wage and hour initiatives from state and local lawmakers.

  • PeopleResults explained metrics and analytics in the human resources department.
  • Jeff Nowak posted some of the most outrageous excuses for FMLA leave, including “I woke up in a good mood and didn’t want to ruin it.”
  • The New York Times discussed the stigma of paternity leave.
